Aleksandra Jachtoma was born in 1932 in Barchaczów. She studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow under the direction of professor Czesław Rzepinski, and then at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, under the direction of professor Kazimierz Tomorowicz. She obtained her diploma in 1958. She uses exclusively painting as a medium. In 1987, she received the Minister of Art Culture Award for her artistic work. She is a laureate of the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Award and the Award of Jan Cybis of the Warsaw District of the Polish Visual Artists’ Association in 2003. She participated in many exhibitions of painting, including 30 individual exhibitions.
